Well, I made it to Post #400, and I haven't shut this blog-thing down yet. By the way, it will be 5 years since I started this blog in November, and I guess I need to decide if I will keep posting messages to an unknown audience, or perhaps revamp this web-log so it can be more interactive to let the readership have some input too. Please use the comments section to let me know your thoughts about this...

As for the power supply and a frog thing, these are 2 separate stories, so if you were thinking that you might see a frog that was zapped into a crispy-critter by a power supply... Well, sorry to disappoint you.

Here is a picture of the power supply. When we came into work, this thing was smoking and showed signs of water damage inside, which meant we couldn't get onto the high-speed internet connection anymore. Of course, this killed our email and several other web-based functions.

Well, after scrounging around, I was able to find this old desktop computer that had the power source I needed, so I cut the output cable off of the internet router power supply (the black cable on the top-left) and spliced it into the desktop PC supply. It isn't pretty, but at least we're back online while we wait for replacement parts to arrive.

As for the frog, Katrina discovered this 'beasty' on the wall by our front door. He's a Cuban Tree Frog that's about 5 inches long. I told Katrina to leave him alone because he's eating a whole bunch of those big, nasty bugs that are trying to get inside the house when we open the door.

Just another view of this rather large specimen. Hope he does a good job of cleaning up around our front porch!

Well, maybe not a crispy frog picture, but a frozen frog picture might be in order. Cuban tree frogs are listed as a "Non-Native Invasive Destructive" species. They will eat smaller frogs like our native tree frogs that contribute more to pest control. Funny as it sounds, the humane method of disposal for these invaders is to rub them with oral numbing gel and put them in the freezer. True story! See: http://floridagardener.com/critters/CubanTreeFrog.htm for how to make your own alien frogcicle. However they are not recommended as a refreshing summer treat. ~Bobbi
