Some Quotes From Nietzsche

I stumbled across some interesting quotes from the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, and he almost seems as 'pithy' as the world's beloved Pooh-Bear. Well, kinda...

“You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.”

“I'm not upset that you lied to me, I'm upset that from now on I can't believe you”

“I have done that," says my memory. "I cannot have done that," says my pride, and remains adamant. At last, memory yields.”

“Amor Fati – “Love Your Fate”, which is in fact your life.”

“One should die proudly when it is no longer possible to live proudly.”

“The true man wants two things: danger and play. For that reason he wants woman, as the most dangerous plaything.”

“Love is a state in which a man sees things most decidedly as they are not”

“That which needs to be proved cannot be worth much”

“It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages.”

“All truly great thoughts are conceived while walking”

“Is man one of God's blunders? Or is God one of man's blunders?”

“One ought to hold on to one's heart; for if one lets it go, one soon loses control of the head too.”

“To forget one's purpose is the commonest form of stupidity.”

“Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools speak because they have to say something.”

“Through humor, you can soften some of the worst blows that life delivers. And once you find laughter, no matter how painful your situation might be, you can survive it.”

“Out of damp and gloomy days, out of solitude, out of loveless words directed at us, conclusions grow up in us like fungus: one morning they are there, we know not how, and they gaze upon us, morose and gray. Woe to the thinker who is not the gardener but only the soil of the plants that grow in him.”
