Geocaching Doggy Event

A geocaching get-together event was held right by the starting point for one of our geocaches, so you know we had to be there. Since it was very close to the dog exercise portion of the park, it was called named as "Dog-Eat-Dog", which of course, means hotdogs were on the grill...

Karen came along for some fun with Melissa and her brother, Philip joining us too. As you will see, we had some fun and we were able to present the first and second place winners of our 10 GeoGem geocaching contest that we had mentioned in this blog earlier.

At center position and to the right is team Adventure.Seeker, the first place winners of our geogem contest with their amethyst GeoGem trophy and their large geocoin award. To the left of them is Cusmith, our second place winner with his amber gem trophy and large geocoin award.

Here is team Adventure.Seeker, working on choosing between the light purple and light blue trophy gems in her hands.

And this is after we presented them with the large geocoin.

Captain Biggins has been working hard to win one of these geogem trophys, but it looks like he might have found and easier way to get one...

Soon afterwards, these deer showed up near the geoevent, and Captain Biggins switched into a different kind of stealth mode.

As you can see, Katrina and Melissa took in the view.

Yeah, the deer really came up kinda close.

Karen was with us at the event, and of course, she found another tree that needed a hug.

Just having fun...

It looks like Melissa and her brother, Philip, are actually having fun too.

There's something about geocaching in the Great Outdoors that makes you want to dance a waltz in the leaves...

Since this backhoe was in our way, Karen volunteered to move it out of our way.

Montu Rider and his daughter "Princess Katie-Bug" joined our group with Captain Biggins as we hunted for geocaches in the park.

This is a shot of Philip after he spooked his sister with this geocache hidden inside a giant toad container. Yeah, real funny Philip...

Montu and Katie-Bug looked on one side of the area while Katrina and her boyfriend looked on the other side, and they came up with the container.

After spotting this frog and taking a picture, we all drove back over to the event pavilion and said our goodbyes. We had quite a bunch of fun and were quite pleased to have been able to present our fellow cachers with their awards.
