Work Progress - Day 1

I'm still out here in Albuquerque and will be here for a while longer. For those whom are curious, I'm working in a cement plant, with Tom Hackney our company electrician and newest medium voltage soft starter technician/recruit. We are having to rebuild a couple of motor starters.

This is what the original equipment looks like. This pair of motor starters was built somewhere around 1952.

This is what the inside of the cabinet looks like. We have to take all of this stuff out and put our equipment in.

This is the cabinet door after we took everything off of it and cut the holes for the new panel we will be bolting up to it.

This is all of the stuff that came off of the door.

This is the plate that will be bolted to the door.

This is the inside of the cabinet. We still have a ways to go to get this thing emptied out.

When the cabinet is finally emptied, we will install this panel we built up today.

Here is a shot of all of the equipment we are working with. You can see a large gray cabinet to the left mounted in place of one of these powder blue motor assemblies.

Well, time for some sleep, more to post tomorrow...
