Geocaching Around The Tarpon Area

Katrina and I spent some time doing some geocaching around Lake Tarpon and the Tarpon Springs Greek Village area.

First off, we stopped by this park to check on a cache we own and we came across these whitetail deer just lounging around nearby.

Next, we stopped by this buffalo cache and Katrina posed in front of it.

Then she started looking for the geocache container. Nope, it doesn't look like it's there...

Geez, why does this statue have to be so anatomically correct? And by the way, the cache isn't around there either...

After goofing off with the bison (and locating the cache container), we stopped off at another park to look for a bigger one. Unfortunately, the container was definitely missing, but at least we got some great pictures while we were there.

At the next cache location we came across this armadillo working hard on locating his next meal.

After finding the cache container that had been missing for about 6 months at the last cache, we moved deeper into the Tarpon Springs / Greek Village area. This park had a neat cache too, and we caught this Blue Heron looking like he wanted his photo taken.

And look at the backdrop he chose... Too cool!

Our final find was located at this monument dedicated to Tarpon Springs residents that had lost their lives fighting in wars.

Well, that's about it for our geocaching day. It was pretty cold, but we still found 10 caches and marked 2 of them as missing. Not a bad day of work and a great father-daughter day spent tramping through the environs.
